IS THE RIVERBED OF GABROVACKA RIVER ACTUALLY A LOCATION FOR WASTE LANDFILLS?

The residents of Crvena Zvezda settlement, who live by Gabrovacka river, pointed over media the problem of waste landfills in this riverbed. On this occasion, according to the order of Palilula Municipal president Boban Dzunic, reacted Communal inspection of Palilula Municipality that is authorized to act on public surfaces of Municipal territory and determined that on the surface out of the waterflow and riverbed of Gabrovacka River does not exist wild landfill. However, according to the report of Municipal inspector, in the riverbed, large waste was seen from households, plastic bottles, bags, wires, construction material, for which is actually the Republic water inspection in charge of.

About the seen state of Garbovacka River at the location from the bridge by PMF (Faculty of Natural Sciences) towards river spring according to Dzunic words, will be informed the authorized Republic inspection and Public water management enterprise, as well as the other organs and public enterprises of the City of Nis, that have an obligation, according to the Act, to take care of using and maintenance of water land of waters of the second category.

President Dzunic, with Marija Brajdic, the head of Municipal administration, visited devastated terrain. For the activities of the solving this problem it is necessary to have certain period of time, emphasized the president, then Palilula Municipality as prevention in the partnership with organizations of civil society volunteers and support of Ekopolis net, Office for Youth of the Municipality, already this weekend - on Saturday 23 February will organize the action of cleaning of the part of the riverbed of Gabrovacka river in Palilula municipality. We will send the invitation to all citizens of this settlement who live by the river, emphasized Dzunic in order to make better together the existing state.

This activity of Palilula authorities is the introduction to the project `Living green` of crossborder cooperation Serbia-Bulgaria, that has for its aim increasing of responsibilities of citizens towards living environment. According to the words of the heads of Palilula Municipality, it will promote new forms of interactive modules and best practice for common capacity building in the area of life environment protection in Municipalities Ihtiman and Palilula but also wider in the Region.
